VAT: at 13%
The Advanced Provisioning Allowance (A.P.A.): typically set at 30% of the charter fee, is an additional amount paid by the Charterer to cover onboard expenses not included in the base charter price. These costs may include, but are not limited to:
Fuel for cruising (beyond 4 hours per day
Fuel for the tender and water sports equipment
Food and beverages for the Charter Party
Berthing fees, harbor dues, pilot fees, and local taxes
Waste disposal, water, and shore power charges
Customs formalities and divers’ fees
Shoreside transfers and excursions
National park entrance fees
Personal laundry
Special equipment requested by the Charterer
Shipping agent fees (if applicable)
Additional services or requests made by the Charter Party during the charter
The A.P.A. is transferred prior to the charter and managed by the captain, who provides a detailed breakdown of all expenditures during the voyage. If the actual expenses exceed the A.P.A., the Charterer is required to settle the difference on board, usually in cash. Conversely, if the full allowance is not used, the unused portion is refunded at the end of the charter.
Please note: A.P.A. does not include the crew gratuity, which is at the Charterer’s discretion.
Gratuity: Is not included in the price of the charter and are a voluntary way of showing appreciation for a good service. Usually it is 10% to 15% of the base rate charter price, according to your satisfaction, paid to the captain at the end of the charter and distributed equally by the captain to the rest of the crew.
